Bing Wright

Biography

Working largely in photography, Bing Wright (b. 1958, Seattle, WA) combines digital technology and traditional collage to examine the physical limits of image production. The artist embeds motifs such as the strip of the frame, fragmented glass, and silver leaf in his layered and re-photographed images, engaging in form and concept with depth of field, scale, surface and materiality. Wright’s work has been shown in exhibitions at the New Museum, White Columns, and the Queens Museum of Art, New York; and the Tang Museum and Art Gallery, Saratoga Springs; among others. His work is in several public collections, including The Museum of Modern Art, New York; the Portland Art Museum; the Seattle Art Museum; Goldman Sachs; JP Morgan Chase Bank; and Citigroup. He lives and works in New York City.
