NEW YORK—The Paula Cooper Gallery is pleased to present Elemental, a group exhibition of works by Carl Andre, Jennifer Bartlett, Donald Judd, Sherrie Levine, Sol LeWitt, and Robert Wilson. The exhibition opens on March 19 and remains on view through April 16 at 521 West 21st Street.

Elemental brings together works consisting of repeated elements arranged in a sequential structure, a formal strategy often associated with minimal art and the work of Donald Judd and Sol LeWitt. The show considers the similarities and differences between the approaches of Andre (identical elements of matter—in this case red Western cedar—systematically juxtaposed), Bartlett (configurations of black dots on white enamel plates), Judd (a modular suite of brushed aluminum boxes), LeWitt (a three-part variation on open and closed cubes) and Levine (serial reformulations of Cézanne landscapes).

In the adjacent room, a recent video triptych by Robert Wilson re-imagines seriality and the grid for the digital age.
